I found myself asking a simple question one day.
Why do I wear a T-shirt almost every day?
At home, it's my first choice. For the office, whenever the occasion allows, I usually reach for one too.
The answer wasn't fashion.
It wasn't trends.
It wasn't price.
It was simply how easy a T-shirt is to wear.
You put it on, and you're ready for the day. It feels comfortable, effortless, and uncomplicated.
I've always preferred plain T-shirts. No large graphics. No loud designs. Just clean, simple clothing that looks good today and still looks good years later.
Over the years, I've also worn some of our own Supima cotton T-shirts. What I've enjoyed most isn't just how soft they felt when they were new, but how comfortable they continued to feel after many wears. That's when I realised something.
A good T-shirt isn't just something you buy.
It's something you keep reaching for.
When I look around, I notice the same thing everywhere. Students wear T-shirts. Professionals wear them. Travellers wear them. Families wear them. Even athletes spend much of their training time wearing T-shirts or T-shirt-style sportswear because comfort and freedom of movement matter. Different people, different lifestyles, yet one simple garment continues to be part of everyday life.
That made me ask myself another question.
Why has the T-shirt remained one of the world's most popular pieces of clothing?
For me, the answer is its simplicity.
A T-shirt asks very little from us. It's easy to wear, easy to pair with almost anything, and suitable for countless everyday moments.
Yet simplicity doesn't mean ordinary.
When it's made with quality fabric, a comfortable fit, and careful craftsmanship, a simple T-shirt can feel surprisingly premium.
One thing I've learned is that everyone has a different idea of the perfect T-shirt.
Some people prefer longer sleeves.
Others like them shorter.
Some enjoy a relaxed fit.
Others prefer a more tailored shape.
There is no single perfect T-shirt because comfort is personal.
Today's choices are greater than ever. Regular cotton, Supima cotton, bamboo cotton, cotton blends, round necks, V-necks, oversized fits, classic fits—the options continue to grow because people continue to enjoy wearing T-shirts in different ways.
Fashion will always evolve. Colours will change. Fits will change. Fabrics will improve.
But I believe the T-shirt will continue to have a place because it solves something simple: it makes getting dressed easy while still allowing us to feel comfortable, confident, and ourselves.
Perhaps that's why, after all these years, I still find myself reaching for a T-shirt almost every morning.
Sometimes the most timeless pieces aren't the ones that attract the most attention.
They're the ones we never stop wearing.
